Petrofac and National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), in a joint venture with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), have won a front-end engineering design (Feed) contract from Adnoc Group firm Al Yasat Petroleum for the Belbazem Block Development project situated offshore in Abu Dhabi.
The contract’s field of works consists of the submission of a Feed package and proposal for the engineering, procurement, construction, and set up (EPCI) of the facilities, with the implementation of the EPCI actions to be granted on a design competition basis.
A joint press release from the companies cited Eng. Ahmed Al Dhaheri, CEO of NPCC, as saying: “We’re delighted to have gained this competitive bid and take part within the design competition, and we look forward to the sufficient supply of our scope in collaboration with our partners at Petrofac. ADNOC and its Group Companies are strategic companions and valued clients to NPCC, and we’ve got together achieved various milestones together with the current load-out of one of many world’s largest offshore oil platforms to mark the completion of part two of Umm Lulu’s super complex development.”
He added: “We’re committed to supporting ADNOC’s enlargement plans to extend their manufacturing capability from 4 million b/d by the top of 2020 to 5 million b/d by 2030, and we stay up for executing extra onshore and offshore initiatives in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.”
Petrofac first established a presence within the UAE in 1991 and has developed a large workforce supporting both regional and international projects.
